Shock absorbers are among the components that participate in the balance of a GE washer.

Stuck items or presence of heavy foreign objects might lead to an abnormal functioning of your GE washer.
In situations like this, all you have to do is check if there are any stuck materials in the drum or around, then remove them.
In addition to this, you should remove any heavy items in the washer and put them in a different space.
You should wash these items one at a time as they’re so huge and should not be washed together in order to avoid getting your washing machine off balance while spinning.
#5. Corroded Washing Machine Motor Shaft
It’s really possible for the shaft of your washer to get corroded if it keeps getting in contact with water or detergent. A slight damage can result in the washer not getting balanced during the spin cycle.
The method to fix this issue is to replace the motor shaft with a new one. Once it’s replaced, your washing machine should stop spinning off balance.

The drum bearings play a very important role in supporting the rotation and spinning of your washing machine. Drum bearings usually wear out if water continuously seeps through the seals around the metal bearings.
- For ge front loaders, the drum bearings are located at the rear of the outer tub while top-loading ge washers have their bearings attached to the inner tub.

My GE washing machine is brand new! It has been off balance almost every spin. Since my last machine only lasted 1 and a half years I bought 3yr. warranty. GE tech guy said I am should always use DEEPFILL and extra H2O RINSE. He said they only use small amounts of H2,O…new machines also are not heavy..no anchoring of tub….drum hits sides and you can move it up and down …so if I want to do a small load the clothes all go to one side…Have to ALWAYS DO LARGE LOADS! THIS IS NOT THE WAY I LIKE TO TO THE LAUNDRY…JUST 2 people! I like to separate the clothes by type etc…don’t have but 2 towels to wash not recommended all 8. I left the exact washer that you were fixing at old house…man told me it would cost $500. to fix it! He also said NEVER LEAVE THE WASHER ON WHEN YOU ARE NOT THERE!!! So now you are stuck just like at laundromat!!!
